Jerusalem

Jerusalem, 'And did those feet in ancient time', is a hymn to England based on the poem by William Blake. It is an inspirational and sometime controversial piece. Underlying the theme is the myth of Glastonbury and the belief that Christ came to England. This is an update on my previous version of the hymn.

The Angelus

The Angelus (Latin for "angel") is a Christian devotion that focuses on the mystery of the Incarnation. As with many Catholic prayers, the name Angelus is derived from its incipit: Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariæ ("... the Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary ...") and is practised by reciting as versicle and response three Biblical verses describing the mystery; alternating with the salutation ...

MY SONG IS LOVE UNKNOWN
Просмотров 25 тыс.10 лет назад
A beautifully sublime English hymn that is a 'song' to God's depth of unending love expressed in the life, suffering and death of Jesus of Nazareth. It was written by Samuel Crossman in 1664. The tune to which it is usually sung and perfectly matched is 'Love Unknown' by John Ireland. Sung here by the Choir of the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Truro, Cornwall. My song is love unknown, M...

Uphold respect for British navy from Poland
I can only assume that "those" that make their "lacking respect" remarks about hearing reville, and understanding (or not understanding) "what it signifies", as well as "knowing & understanding OUR MILITARY instructions upon "hearing it at those time of day".... missed out on the opportunity to serve...actually SERVE... our nation...at home, and abroad. Now days, it seems the only time I hear it is on Memorial Day... an emotional time remembering friends ... no longer with us.
I play this to wake my kids.
How awful and ironic that the ad prior to viewing this was of convicted felon Trump who’s shilling for dollars from ‘true patriots’. The soldiers of WWII and WWI are the true patriots.
RIP Edward Green Munro. Served in the submarines for most of his adult life. I was simply a friend and colleague of his for this past year and I'm not even Scottish. He went from appearing healthy at the start of May to passing away shortly before its end at the age of 54, due to terminal cancer. I still can't believe he's gone
❤😊

My sister was one of the first female Grenadier Guards in Ottawa, ON! She's front ĺine, on the far right. SO darn proud of her!!! Way to go, Emily! 😘❤👏🍾

R.I.P Mr David Adkins. 52. Took his own life. He was a Naval Steward in his service. A father, a brother, a husband, a friend. I salute you sir
The music was used during a funeral in the Michael Cimino film THE DEERHUNTER
This represents light and freedom, god smiles upon the Brits whenever this is played
A beautiful hymn, significant to me in memory of the grandfather I never knew: Harold Quinn, First Radio Officer on the SS Avoceta, on convoy HG73. Attacked by U203, 123 people from Avoceta were lost, including 43 crew, nine Navy staff, four DEMS gunners and 67 civilian passengers, including 32 women and 20 children, four of which were under one year old. Harold left a widow with 8 children.
Happy Anzac Day
Used at our wedding at Christ Church Lexington KY.....
Coongratulations!
From what year is this record?
Lord Jesus I have suffered 4 times surgeries since 2007 while living with one kidney still no solution. As if that was not enough, my own relatives turned against me and since 2022 I am suffering from depression. Please Lord remember me into your kingdom 😭😭😭😭
I know that the crew on the Edmund Fitzgerald was not part of the military Navy, but I played the song in honor of them as they were on a ship and did go down with the ship.
Very moving song I remember it being played at President Kennedy’s funeral
RIP Lieutenant John F. Kennedy, US Navy, 35th President of the United States, laid to rest 25 Nov. 1963 at Arlington, DC
My family member was a stocker on HMS hood in ww2 and died when the bismarck sunk it rest in peace to all lives lost that day 🇬🇧 🏴
i bet the soldiers had to be dressed by the end of the song
When I hear this song I cannot help to think of all the allied sailors and merchant seamen that died fighting the Japanese and German navies during WW2. Whether is was fighting Uboats or bloody cruiser on cruiser night fights in the southwest pacific, our societies have forgotten how much these sailors sacrificed for our countries.
Beautiful!
to HRH Prince Philip and those that perished on the Titanic
I am a retired US Navy Corpsman. I remember this being played numerous times in my career. Now, as age has not been very friendly to me, I come toward my final years. I reflect on the brothers I once had, those living and those who have gone on to eternity. In my mind, we're still those same young men in our late teens or early 20's who thought we could conquer anything that was thrown at us. It was an honor then and an honor now to have served in the finest Navy in the world. This will be the closing hymn at my funeral, a reminder of how our eternal Father truly is "Strong to save." God bless our Navy and all of its men and woman, past, present, or future.
A very fine comment, sir. I salute you and your tribute.
Thank you for your service my grandfather was navy uss wasp cv7

Good morning
I have no real faith, but have live close to the sea for most of my life and witnessed the blessing of the local fishing boats, this hymn has always had a strong connection to me. I plan to do some solo sailing in the next few years and I am sure I will hear this hymn being played over and over in my mind many times.
Great Puritan hymn.
When I go to wake up my dad, I put this so he can remeber the army’s years.🤣🤣🤣
